God 501: A Question To Stop You In Your Tracks

by | Dec 6, 2017 | God 501 Series

A few thousand years ago, God had been listening to Job and his friends carry on for quite some time. They were full of questions, theories, and solutions regarding the Creator and His ways. Finally, God threw out a perfect, holy zinger: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” (Job 38:4)

Fast forward to now. Not unlike Job’s friends, various people with a platform attempt to write and re-write where God stands on the issues. Can’t you just hear Him now? “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?”

What a humbling relief to become dismounted from a holy high horse. He is the Creator and each person is His created being. Created beings don’t get to decide how the world was designed, and created beings don’t get to overrule the Creator’s order of right and wrong.

But created beings who submit to the Creator do get to “mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” (Is. 40:31)

Simple Takeaway:  Not a single person was with God when He ordered life into existence. Submission to a Heavenly reign is the fixed human design. But this is not a bad thing; it’s the way to soar.

Footnote about this article:  500 level courses are great for learning and expanding upon the basics of any subject without being boring and elementary. When it comes to the subject of God, a lot of the basics have been lost in this modern age. So, this article is the first in a one-of-a-kind series entitled: God 501. These unique 501 articles will be geared for 1) those of you who appreciate refresher Biblical messages through lesser-known verses and 2) for many others who missed out on some Biblical teaching somewhere along the way and would appreciate a non-intimidating, fresh way to catch up.
